Dear Faithful Donors and Supporters,

Thank you so much for your prayers and for your generous contributions to the online Giving Wall Marathon Fundraiser. It was a great success with $7,763 raised. Praise God!

I hope you were able to view the talks shared every three hours by staff, volunteers, residents and community supporters. We greatly appreciated each person who spoke. One of our residents shared an inspiring testimony of her journey and the difference TJH is making in her life. If you missed it, I will briefly share part of her story:

This Mom came to us out of a substance abuse program and wanted a place to stay while she rebuilds her life. She came with no money, no housing options, no food, no cell phone, no job, no vehicle and no daycare for her young son. It has taken about a month to discern and implement plans/programs that meet her needs, but she has worked hard and we have supported her in Jesus’ name. She has loved the Bible study and daily devotion time and continues to grow in her faith. She now has a job offer and a spot in daycare that will both begin in about two weeks. A donated car, an offer to pay for 6 months of insurance and continued food supplies have helped her to get back on her feet. What a joy it has been to work with her on her goals and see her thrive. What would someone like her have done without shelter and food and support when she first got out of rehab? What a privilege we have to join in helping someone know Jesus (for the first time or more deeply) and enable them to become an independent member of our community (instead of someone dependent for a long time on other people and government programs).

Thank you for joining us in helping give hope and healing to people like this family in Jesus’ name.

Please continue to pray for those already in the home and for discernment concerning people who are requesting applications to become guests of the home. We are trying to be wise about safety in this time of Covid and are trusting God to show us His perfect timing for admitting more residents.

Some volunteers are returning to do parenting, mentoring, budgeting and Bible study classes. Let us know if you are feeling ready to be involved as well.

Blessings,
Debby
